Ep. 23: How to Charge More Money

Many of us coaches take a portion of our practice and we save it for people who cannot pay a whole lot of money. When I say what you’re worth, what I really mean is not what you, as a human being is worth, I’m saying because of your training, because of the amount of time you put into your own professional development.

Dr. Maria Nemeth discusses the importance of understanding and valuing our worth in terms of our work and income. She emphasizes that our self-worth is not tied to our net worth, but that recognizing our value and charging what we are worth can lead to a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in our work.

Once you charge what you are worth you tie yourself to deliver as per the client’s expectations, whereas when we charge less we become somehow reluctant. Sometimes we think our service is worth much, then we need to add to our knowledge so that we can charge more.

Devaluing yourself only hurts you as a person, go online and see what other people are charging for the same service you are offering.

A tip would be to look at the professional development and training that we have gained in preparation to offer the service and also the experience we have over time. Apparently if we charge less we also have to deliver. Our commitment to give one hundred percent is to be charged as well because you are not going to charge less if you are fully committed. Then you will task yourself to put in the work.

Dr. Nemeth provides practical tips for how to determine our worth and set appropriate prices for our services, including understanding our market and competition, identifying our unique skills and contributions, and developing a clear and compelling value proposition. She also addresses common fears and limiting beliefs that may hold us back from charging what we are worth, and provides strategies for overcoming these obstacles.

Overall, the episode challenges you to recognize your value and charge what you are worth and provides practical guidance for doing so in a way that is aligned with our values and purpose.
